Bempedoic Acid is prescribed with lifestyle modification and some cholesterol-lowering drugs to lower bad cholesterol in people with heart disease or heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (a genetic disorder in which cholesterol cannot be cleared from the body normally).

Bempedoic Acid includes Bempedoic acid, which inhibits an enzyme (ATP citrate lyase) used in the synthesis of cholesterol. This inhibits the synthesis of cholesterol in the liver and decreases the excretion of LDL cholesterol. Thus, it contributes to lowering bad cholesterol in the body.

Advantages of Bempedoic Acid:

Bempedoic Acid is a class of drugs referred to as adenosine triphosphate-citrate lyase (ACL) inhibitors that are administered in combination with the cholesterol-lowering diet to adult patients with primary hypercholesterolaemia or mixed dyslipidaemia, conditions responsible for an elevated level of cholesterol in the blood. Bempedoic Acid contains Bempedoic acid, which functions by inhibiting an enzyme required for cholesterol production. This prevents the production of cholesterol in the liver and enhances the elimination of LDL cholesterol. In this way, it assists in lowering bad cholesterol in the body.

Uses:

• Bempedoic Acid is administered to lower low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), or ‘bad cholesterol.’ It does so by preventing the functioning of the enzyme ATP citrate lyase, which is involved in the production of cholesterol in the liver.
• Bempedoic Acid is prescribed for adults with primary hyperlipidemia, or heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia, a genetic disorder that leads to extremely high levels of cholesterol.
• Bempedoic Acid can be used in combination with statins or as a substitute when statins cannot be tolerated, to lower the risk of heart attack, stroke, or coronary interventions.

Dosage:

Precautions:
